Mission Promenade - A multi-million dollar, mixed-use development that combines first floor retail, second floor office space and 26 third floor residential units in a three-story urban village environment. It is located on the northwest corner of Garey Avenue and Mission Boulevard. This progressive project has attracted retail icons such as Starbucks Coffee, Quizno's Sandwiches and recently opened, the much anticipated, Sakura Ichi Japanese Restaurant.
WinCo Stores opened its doors to the public last year. WinCo Foods, which stands for Winning Company, took over the former Home Base site and is now one of the primary anchors in the Pomona Ranch Plaza located at the northeast junction of the 60 Freeway and Highway 71. This store is approximately 100,000 sq.ft. and offers a huge selection of groceries, gigantic bulk foods, fresh meat and produce. Fresh baked goods and piping hot food and sandwiches are also available in the store's bakery and deli. This expanded facility will soon be joined by new development, which is currently taking place.
The Sheraton Suites Fairplex is now in its thirteenth year of operation and is currently undergoing a major renovation. The Sheraton is located adjacent to the 534-acre Fairplex Exposition Complex, home to the Los Angeles County Fair. The hotel renovation is comprised of two phases. Phase I, now completed, included the remodel of all 247 spacious guest rooms, the restaurants, meeting rooms, lobby and more. Phase II will consist of upgrades to the pool area and laundry facility.
The Helix at University Village was completed in early 2006. The four-story graduate student-housing complex for students of Western University valued at $10 million, is located at 510 East Third Street. The building is approximately 85,000 square feet in size with all the modern amenities and appliances a working student would need. The units consists of 24 studios (330 s.f.), 24 one-bedroom/one bathroom apartments (581 s.f.), and 52 two-bedrooms/one bathroom apartments (830 s.f.).
In cooperation with the City of Pomona Redevelopment Agency West Hills Development developed five historically replicated single family homes. Located on the Southwest corner of Pasadena Street and Eleanor Street, five single-family homes in a historical style complementary to the Lincoln Park Historical neighborhood have been completed. The houses feature Craftsman, Victorian, Colonial, Spanish and California Bungalow styles in both single and two story configurations. The houses vary in size from 1,500 to 2,000 square feet and contain three and four bedrooms. Each feature a detached two car garage with landscaped back yard and front yard. Four of the homes are being sold at market rate, while the fifth home designated as moderate income, was sold in August.
